Australian Consumer Law

The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) protects consumers by giving them certain guaranteed rights when they buy goods and services. As an example, the ACL requires that goods must be free of defects, and do what they are meant to do. Services must be carried out with care and skill. These rights, which the ACL says automatically apply whenever goods or services are supplied to a consumer, are called ‘Consumer Guarantees’.  More details can be found at the ACL website.

Outdoor Camping Australia Refund Policy

At Outdoor Camping Australia we are proud to offer a wide range of quality products and brands.  We understand there may be times when an item might need to be returned and we want this to be as easy as possible, we have set out the below policy.

Outdoor Camping Australia will accept product returns and provide a refund or repair where:

  • The product is faulty or is not of merchantable quality, or
  • The product is not fit for its intended purpose, or
  • The product does not match the description
  • You can present a receipt or other adequate proof of purchase

Please note in the case of some mechanical products, Outdoor Camping Australia may elect to send an authorised service agent to determine the nature of the problem prior to authorising any return.

If the product is determined to be faulty and cannot be repaired on site, not of merchantable quality, not fit for purpose or not matching a description or sample, Outdoor Camping Australia will offer an exchange or refund.

Change of Mind Product Returns

You are welcome to return an item if you have changed your mind on your purchase.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.  You must return the item within 30 days of purchase at your own expense.

If these requirements are not satisfied Outdoor Camping Australia reserves the right not to offer an exchange product, credit or refund for change of mind returns.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return cannot be accepted.

Refunds

We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at contact@campingaustralia.com.au.

The delivery charges will only be reimbursed when Outdoor Camping Australia is at fault; that is, if the wrong item was delivered or there is a fault with the product (including damaged in transit). In all other circumstances the delivery charges will be deducted from the refund to the customer.

Exchanges

The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item. 

Exceptions / non-returnable items

Certain types of items cannot be returned, such as perishable goods (food), custom products (such as special order personalized items).

No refund will be given on free items or gift cards.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Outdoor Camping Australia Reserves the Right To:

Assess the condition and age of returned goods prior to offering a repair, exchange or refund. This may result in a repair, exchange or refund being refused.

Please note:
  • Your original receipt is the best form of proof of purchase
  • Refunds will be issued using your original payment method
  • Please return all accessories and manuals supplied with product
